On October 11, I had the privilege to serve as one of the workshop leaders for the School to School program, where we explored the theme “Empowering Young Learners with the Design Thinking Process.”
This session focused on how we, as educators, can bring the Design Thinking approach into PYP lower grade classrooms — guiding our young learners to think critically, empathize deeply, and create meaningful solutions for real-world problems.
Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, we reflected on how even our youngest students are capable of identifying challenges, generating ideas, and taking thoughtful action when given the right tools and mindset.
It was truly inspiring to see fellow educators share their passion for nurturing creativity and innovation in early years and lower primary settings. Moments like these remind me why Design Thinking is not just a framework, but a mindset that empowers students to see themselves as changemakers.
Empower. Create. Reflect. Design.
Let’s continue to design learning experiences that spark curiosity, empathy, and action.
